Hawkins Ash CPAs has a new Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the firm’s Medford, WI, office.

Associate Rachel Blumenshine recently achieved her CPA designation from the State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services. To qualify, she had to pass a rigorous, four-part written exam, have a four-year college degree and demonstrate at least a year of experience in public or private accounting.

“One thing I love about my job is the educational aspect of it,” she said. “I personally love to learn and find it especially rewarding to help others learn.”

Blumenshine joined Hawkins Ash CPAs in 2018. She prepares tax returns and provides accounting and bookkeeping services, assisting with voucher school audits and preparing financial statements, as well as annual information returns for clients. Additionally, Blumenshine is a member of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants (WICPA).

“I’m also a Certified QuickBooks Desktop ProAdvisor, which opens opportunities for me to teach our clients how to use their software in a way that works best for them,” said Blumenshine.

In the community, she is a board member of AbbyColby Crossings Chamber of Commerce

Before joining Hawkins Ash CPAs, Blumenshine gained business experience working at UC Davis, where her main focuses were budgeting and financial reporting.

Most recently Blumenshine worked at the California public accounting firm Jamie Baker & Co., where she assisted with the preparation of tax returns and HUD audits.
