The Green Bay office of Hawkins Ash CPAs has joined Green Bay’s downtown Rail Yard Innovation District:

520 N. Broadway
Suite 250
Green Bay, WI 54303

The Green Bay office is home to 25 tax, accounting and audit professionals that serve privately held businesses, individuals, nonprofits and financial institutions.

“We wanted an office that was centrally located that offered lots of natural light and area amenities that will help us attract and retain professional talent,” said Jeff Danen, CPA, CVA. Danen is Partner-in-Charge of the Green Bay office of Hawkins Ash CPAs.

While offering all of these amenities and more, the Rail Yard Innovation District also has a rich history—and a bright future. It was developed on the site of a military fort governed by the French, the British and finally the U.S. As Fort Howard it once was commanded by President Zachary Taylor. In order to raise funds for the Civil War, the fort was sold to the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad, paving the way for Green Bay’s first train depot, freight station and rail yard.

In today’s Rail Yard Innovation District, the building that now houses Hawkins Ash CPAs originally was built in 1925 as a cold storage facility. After 30 years of serving as a canned food storage facility for Larson Canning, the building was abandoned in 2014 but soon reimagined in 2015 as local business leaders and city officials committed to renovating and redeveloping the 22-acre property into commercial and retail spaces, restaurants, and a variety of living options.

“We’re looking forward to becoming part of the growing business community the Rail Yard District and Downtown Green Bay have to offer.”

Jeff Danen, CPA, CVA, Partner-in-Charge, Green Bay office

The renovated Larson Canning buildings, totaling approximately 230,000 square feet in the Rail Yard Innovation District, contain more than 25 local businesses where 300 employees work, with space for more. The campus also boasts nearly 350 housing units that are currently under various phases of construction. Progress of the $6 million infrastructure project currently underway will yield new roads and public spaces.
